These images are illustrations for P I Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker 1971, by Japanese artist Fumiko Hori. This book was made as part of the Fantasia Pictorial series. These were based on well-known masterpieces of music, with stories and illustrations carefully designed to help young readers expand their musical imaginations, and to encourage children fond of music to find new enjoyment in books.
